Best gift shop award nomination

Can you visualise a cow in muddy stiletto’s? Well that is what you need to envisage as Holy Cow Home have been nominated for the award for the best gift shop in the award winning bloggers annual competition.

Despite winning the best new business award in Aylesbury last year the owner Poonam Gupta was still totally mooved by the nomination! Its great news for the business and all who have supported it.

The initial nomination run from Weds 4 May until Weds 25 May.

The 5 businesses from each category with the most votes will go through to the Final (Tues 7 – Tues 14 June).  You can vote for us too.

Father’s day

It has come at a potentially busy time with father’s day looming. Holy Cow!! Home were preparing a new display to show off their man products including goats skin ‘man bags/satchels’, hand made cards and shaving boxes amongst other goodies for the man about the house.

Kantha

In addition to our highly coveted Nest armchair covered in Kantha fabric, we also have taken delivery of patchwork silk Kantha scarves and amazing vintage artisan-made, cotton throws and bedspreads from India.

Recycled sari fabric quilted

Made from layers of recycled sari fabric quilted together with running Kantha stitch. The two sides of each piece is unique in pattern and colour – making no two bedspreads the same.  The small groups of women who make these items work in collaboration with a not-for-profit organisation that supports them in business and marketing. Because the saris are sourced individually and hand stitched, no two pieces are the same.

Janice Issitt’s blog

One of our favourite bloggers and stylist Janice Issitt, shows how versatile these boho quilts can be, as a picnic mat, throw on a statement armchair, and she even created her own wigwam! Check out her blog.
