This Holy Cow!! Home Newsletter has been delayed as we have been sooo busy enjoying the Summer festivals. We have spent five days at the first BBC Country-file event and four days at the fifty second Towersey folk music festival followed by the Bucks County Show. (Phew!!!)
BBC Country file is a well established and very popular programme which hosted its premier outdoor country faire and boy what a huge affair it was! Tens of thousands attended to see the many events and stalls, including of course, our own beloved Holy Cow!! Home, on the grounds of the beautiful Blenheim Palace.
Towersey by contrast is not so well known but is a very well established folk music event. For over fifty years thousands have been attending to listen to folk music, headlined this year by Midge Urge. The food on offer was excellent too – we enjoyed an excellent venison burger as well as wood fired pizzas.
The Bucks County Show is a one-day event that clogs up the roads around the picturesque village of Weedon. Animals are the focus here including prizes for the best cow, sheep, bull etc. We tried to enter the Holy Cow!! but were swiftly ‘steered’ away!

Holy Cow!! Home was busy during these shows with plenty of people gaping at our acclaimed stall displaying the usual hand made goodies – some even bought some! We sold out of our singing bowls and are finding it impossible to replenish them, although they are coming soon. The recycled plastic bottle rugs, bags and blankets continued to stun people and a lucky winner has already collected one as part of a prize draw.
