Aylesbury is a truly multi-cultural town and it is a delight when music, dance and costumes from around the globe can come together in our community events.
In addition to running Holy Cow Home, a boutique interiors shop in Aylesbury, I am greatly involved in the organisation of town centre events. One of the biggest annual events is WhizzFizzFest. Celebrating Aylesbury’s links with leading Children’s author Roald Dahl, this festival attracts authors, celebrities and a wide range of local community groups and schools.
WhizzFizzFest is a creative delight, with thousands taking part in a themed parade. Music, dance art and literature combine to provide a fun-filled experience for everyone who is involved.

Holy Cow Fashion Show
Last year, I was the compere for the Holy Cow Fashion Show. Our fantastic local models showcased a range of Indian clothing. On hot and sunny days, as we experienced in 2018, the cool cotton and silk fabrics are cool and comfortable to wear. From muted tones to rich, vibrant colours, we showcased tops, trousers, skirt, shirts and scarfs to suit all tastes.

Beaded tie necklace and Harem Turquoise Trousers with outside pocket

Elephant print soft trousers with elasticated waist and ancles
Grandad cotton shirt, cotton drop bottom trousers, and goats leather satchel
Unisex grandad shirt, cotton trousers with pull string waist cotton rhombus scarf and silver triple layered necklace
Kantha stitched stole worn as a bandeau, Navy harem trousers, with outside pocket, colourful embroidered parasol
Fisherman Trousers, unisex scarf/bandana
VIntage cotton Kimono over a Jersey Burnt Orange Dress
Red cotton trousers, paisley print cotton stole worn as a bandeau
Cotton Om print unisex shirt, travellers backpack, with dark grey cotton harem trousers- one size
Cool white linen tunic, and blue linen straight trousers with pockets, tie/dye stole with crochet edging, classic bracelet
Peach linen tunic, topped with Cleopatra beaded necklace, and hiroglyphic print scarf and cotton trousers
I was also involved in organising the Bollywood dancing session, which is a highlight for me. What better way to showcase our Indian heritage than with music, energetic dance and richly hand-embroidered Indian clothing!

Did you know – why do indian dancers dance bare feet?
Dance is not just a form of art, it is a homage to Lord Shiva, aka Natraj meaning lord of dance, its a sign of respect to the art.

Look forward to seeing you on the 22nd June, it will be a great family day out with so much to do in town, make sure you allow plenty of time to take part in all the activities and visit our little shop, see you there
